Social Security : Welfare Benefits
Georgian legislation defines the categories of people eligible for aid and the amount of money to be issued on a monthly basis. These are as follows;

Welfare Benefits
1. Single unemployed retiree living on his own– GEL 22 and unemployed retiree living in a family with 2 or more members – GEL 35.
2. Orphan children (both parents lost), despite the capability to work of the guardian – GEL 22
3. Disabled, unemployed blind veterans of 1st category– GEL 22.
4. Disabled children less than 18 years of age – GEL 22 per person.
5. Families having 7 and more minor (under 18 years of age) children – GEL 35.
Social Benefits: Electricity Entitlements
Georgian legislation envisages monthly monetary compensation for the consumed electricity for the following categories of people:

c) Persons who were injured while working on liquidation of the results of Chernobil Atomic Plant explosion, persons who participated in liquidation of results of Chernobil Atomic Plant explosion, families, who lost their bread-winners in the explosion, persons who suffered political repressions and their family members who are unable to work, as well as Merit retirees and their family members – monthly allowance of GEL 2.5 and for those living in the capital GEL 3.5.

d) Parents unable to work, despite their age, wife who has not remarried, minor children (under 18) and other family members unable to work, who were dependants of the persons deceased during the Second World War - Monthly allowance of GEL 8; for the same category living in capital GEL 12.

Family members of the deceased during the dispersal of the peaceful demonstration of April 9, 1989 unable to work, as well as invalids as a result of injuries during the dispersal – monthly allowance of GEL 12. For the same category living in the capital GEL 23.

Victims of the dispersal of the peaceful demonstration claiming the Independence of Georgia – monthly allowance of GEL 8. For the same category living in the capital – GEL 11.

Unemployment Benefits
There are currently no State unemployment benefits which may be claimed alhtough there are only precondition for obtaining state healthcare (free) is being in the database for persons below the poverty line, this means that they should have up to 70 000 reintegration points. The amount of such eligibility points is established by the government annually.
